More food.

So I just found out that, none other than the US Army will be giving a lunchtime presentation this Wednesday. And they're aiming to recruit doctor soldiers with sushi, rice-crusted chicken, and subs. War in Iraq? Who cares, they're feeding me sushi. Where do I sign up?

I thought that people went into the army first, in order to get funding for med school, not the other way around. Did anyone sign up for the army there?

You can sign up almost anytime. However many years of med school they pay for, that's how much time you owe them. That's on top of residency and then a certain number of years in the reserves. Not a bad deal if you've just finished college, have no attachments, and are looking to do some service to the country. Docs in the military work way behind the lines, so the risk is not that great.
